Science (Grades 6th – 8th)
All sciences are honors level course work.
The academic pace and rigor is greatly increased in high level course work.
Each grade level instructs lessons in Science Inquiry and Environmental Science.
Science Inquiry is a process in which students learn to develop high level thinking or critical thinking skills by developing questions or explanations about our natural world. These questions or explanations are developed by testing, investigating, collecting data and analyzing data that will either support or reject their original ideas about the world.
Environmental Science is the study of how living and nonliving components interact within an ecosystem, with special emphasis on the impact that humans have on the environment.
6th Grade Physical Science
Physical Science involves the study of matter and its motions, along with energy and force. Overall, we teach our students to understand how the universe works.
7th Grade Life Science
Life Science involves the study of all living organisms such as plants, animals, bacteria and humans. The focus is on the behavior, structure, function, growth and origin of all living organisms.
8th Grade Earth and Space Science
