Congratulationsto Stella Worley Middle School Middle eighth grade ELA teacher Sarah Watkins! She was surprised with the 2024-25 Louisiana Milken Educator Awards and a $25,000 check during a schoolwide celebration with National Institute for Excellence in Teaching.

For the first time in ten years, “The President’s Own” United States Marine Band returns as part of the band's National Concert Tour, performing a free 3 PM concert on October 12, 2025 at the East Jefferson High School Auditorium.

Because principal leadership is key to student success, the National Association of Elementary School Principals recognizes accomplished elementary and middle-level principals from across the nation and abroad as a part of its annual National Distinguished Principal (NDP) program.

Jefferson Parish Schools today announced its policy for serving meals to students under the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs for the 2025 - 2026 school year.

Only clear, see-through tote bags, backpacks, or any similar articles are permitted.

The updated uniform policy provides a clear and measurable standard for skirt length to ensure consistency, fairness, ease of enforcement across the student body.

As a Literacy Mentor, you will provide ongoing support for new teachers with 3 or less years of service in schools with high teacher turnover and/or high numbers of teachers new to the field and teachers implementing Leading and Learning (L&L) innovations.

Jefferson Parish Schools proudly congratulates Neal Pramod Tandon, a senior at Haynes Academy for Advanced Studies, on being named the 2025 Louisiana High School Student of the Year. 

Jefferson Parish is celebrating its Bicentennial in 2025, and they are inviting the community to join them in a year-long celebration to recognize their 200-year history!

The students of JP Schools will celebrate along the parade routes during Carnival season. 

This year, our district grew by 3.8 points, moving from a 71.2 C rating to a 75 B rating—only the second time in our history that we’ve achieved a B.

As we continuously work towards improved outcomes for our kids, we are excited to launch district-wide school culture surveys beginning in fall 2024.

We are writing with important information regarding cell phone use in our schools. The Louisiana Legislature passed a law this spring that prohibits students from using electronic devices (cell phones) on school property during the school day.
